Focus

Been away for a long weekend that was completely worth it :)

Sometimes we need some time to think
Need steady hands for steadying
Sometimes we need to slow it down
Think about it, talk about it, figure it out

I've had a lot in my plate and you know this
You always told me clear your mind and just focus
When things get rough on the water just trust the ocean
Just focus on your plans and I will plan to meet you in them

I've gone a long way since a year ago
I pace myself and I move it slow
Things are getting better everyday you're here
Baby promise me you'll stay here

"Damn it"
"LANGUAGE!"
"Sorry, I burnt my marshmallow"

Amazing how in this instant you can see it...

Gimme hate, Lord

"Gimme hate, Lord," he whimpered.  "I'll take hate any day.  But don't give me love.  I can't take no more love, Lord.  I can't carry it.  Just like Mr. Smith.  He couldn't carry it.  It's too heavy.  Jesus, you know.  You know all about it.  Ain't it heavy?  Jesus?  Ain't love heavy?  Don't you see lord?  You own son couldn't carry it.  If it killed Him, what You think it's gonna do to me?  Huh?  Huh?

Jonathan Livingston Seagull a story

"Well, what happens from here?  Where are we going?  Is there no such place as heaven?"
"No, Jonathan, there is no such place.  Heaven is not a place, and it is not a time.  Heaven is being perfect."

Jonathan sighed. The price of being misunderstood, he thought. They call you devil or they call you god.

"Sully, for shame!" Jonathan said in reproach, "and don't be foolish!  What are we trying to practice every day?  If our friendship depends on things like space and time, then when we finally overcome space and time, we've destroyed our own brotherhood!  But overcome space, and all we have left is Here.  Overcome time, and all we have left is Now.  And in the middle of Here and Now, don't you think that we might see each other once or twice?"

“Come along then.” said Jonathan. “Climb with me away from the ground, and we’ll begin.”
“You don’t understand My wing. I can’t move my wing.”
“Maynard Gull, you have the freedom to be yourself, your true self, here and now, and nothing can stand in your way.It is the Law of the Great Gull, the Law that Is.”
“Are you saying I can fly?”
“I say you are free.”

“Why is it,” Jonathan puzzled, “that the hardest thing in the world is to convince a bird that he is free, and that he can prove it for himself if he’d just spend a little time practicing? Why should that be so hard?”

Wrinkles and Time

I think older people have earned the right to watch the television with the volume all the way up, to fart as they walk down aisles in the grocery store, to take a little longer to get something done, and to drive slow in the fast lane and flip the young speeders off when they pass by honking.  I think they've earned the right to be sweet and innocent again like little kids where everyone around them is simply nice, and if someone pisses them off, the old lady should be able to hit them with their big old purse...

They've gone through so much more than anyone else (probably), and even though they're not all perfect, and they're not all wise, some still are, and some still hurt, just like anyone else, either from happenings from the past or from elderly pains of the present.

They've been able to get through this experience we call life - and they should not have to put up with the younger naive generations rushing to get by, when they just want their turn to last to it's rightful time, because maybe that's all they have left.

Happy Mothers Day '10!!!

This cartoon, that I found so miraculously, happens to define and slightly exaggerate how my mom is.

I love it.

Inspiration

Since none of the photography on this blog has actually been mine yet,
I just wanted to say, that's not intentional

As soon as the moneys in my hand, a camera will be in reach
Meanwhile, babysitting and admiring other photographers talent and artwork will be the majority of this blog...

anyway.

This is a photo taken by my dad who just happened to be in an "jaw-dropping" place at the right time

Fruit Salad, yummy yummy...

I kind of remember how only a couple months ago, I used to basically live in the kitchen...

I just can't remember if it was because I was actually hungry, or if my mom had actually bought good food...

Goal - be able to catch a moment as quick and defined as this:

Erik. Johansson.

"Wet Dreams on Open Water"

"Go On Your Own Road"

"Working At Sea"

"Face vs Fist"

“Road-worker’s Coffee break”

"Coffee Spill"

“Lazy dogs have also come out”

"Strange Forest"

"Tough"

"Hanging See On the Wall"
